Synopsis:
This farce by Michael Cooney begins by introducing Eric Swan and his seemingly endless fraudulent DSS claims. He realizes his situation has become unmanageable and even as he begins “killing off” his many fictional claimants in hopes to begin to rectify the situation, innocent bystanders (including his own wife!) are inadvertently swept into Eric’s web of deceptions – which further mounts to complete mayhem. The lies to cover up lies about lies seem to never end as his unsuspecting lodger Norman – who unknowingly had “met his own demise” that very morning – walks into what quickly becomes a most distressing situation; the bereavement counselor, undertaker, and psychiatrist show up to offer even more assistance and condolences; and the DSS inspector comes to investigate the overly abundant misfortunes of this household. Eric’s wife and Norman’s fiance learn about the secret lives of their significant others, and Uncle George gets a good long nap that nearly lasts forever. Even the household appliances can’t seem to avoid joining in the chaos! By the time the DSS inspector’s boss shows up, Eric has finally reached the end of his rope. The truth comes out, and he finally must face the consequences of his actions.

Meet our Cast
Eric Swan played by Camden Wright
Camden Wright is excited to be making his theatrical debut here with the North Bend Entertainers. He acknowledges that he has never acted nor been on stage before, but has been a lifetime patron of the theater through the attendance of all of his favorite movies which tend to be either fantasy or sci-fi. Admittedly, while he today he is not playing Django Fett, nor Frodo Baggins. He still brings complete commitment to the part of Eric Swan. He would like to thank Lucy Wright for pressuring him into accepting the part and for lovingly, inviting him into her world of theater.
Linda Swan played by Debbie Miller
Debbie Miller was recently seen on our very own stage in “Just Desserts,” and, just like the rest of us, has developed the addiction that is acting! She is so excited to perform again, this time as Linda. She is grateful for the support of her family, friends, and other fans – even if that includes endless teasing and good-natured jokes at her expense. When Debbie is offstage, she is loving spending time in her own world of chaos – otherwise known as her dear husband, kids, and grandkids. She also offers the best peas in Fairview for sale at her home soon! Be sure to stop by!
Norman McDonald played by Jason Quinn
Jason’s first and greatest joy is, of course, working on stage with children and animals. But, when they are not available, this cast is a darn close second, and he has enjoyed every minute of this production with them. Along with the lofty and highly esteemed pursuit of excellence-in-community theater, he also enjoys drawing stuff, kissing his wife, Kay, and manipulating his children through guilt. Sometimes, if you know where to find him, you might spy him standing heroically, like a sea captain, you know, with one foot up on a rock or something, gazing into the distance thinking deep thoughts. Or, thinking about kissing his wife, Kay.
Mr. Jenkins played by Shayne Thompson
Shayne Thompson has tried to fight the urge to get back on stage, but he is no match for that! We are grateful to have the pleasure of watching him play Mr. Jenkins in this show! He is fun and easy to work with, and always surprises us with his mad skills. A big thank you to his family for sharing him for rehearsals and other practice time!! Until his next show, you’ll likely find Shayne helping someone somewhere, making life better for us all!
Uncle George played by Jackson Lambie
While relatively new to the theater scene, Cash on Delivery is Jackson Lambie’s second show with North Bend Entertainers. Jackson moved to Sanpete two years ago and enjoys the strong community spirit present in this valley. In his free time, Jackson enjoys hiking, driving, and exploring the vast landscapes of Utah.
Sally Chessington played by Maryn Taylor-Bean
This is Maryn Taylor-Bean’s first production with North Bend Entertainers and she is very excited to be a part of this performance. Before this she could be seen at Lagoon Amusement Park as Rebecca in Lore, Tale of the Two Sisters. She has been on stage since she was 6 years old, and has since participated in gymnastics, contemporary/lyrical, and ballroom dance, both as a dancer and a coach. She has recently opened up a ballroom dance studio, Levare Studios, with her amazing husband. When she’s not on performing, singing, or dancing, you can always find her passing time with cross stitch and knitting. She is so grateful for her supportive husband, Paxton, for letting her come and play!
Doctor Chapman played by Tanya Carney
Tanya Carney does a great job playing Dr. Chapman in this show, but her true show of strength of character is in her real life! She loves the stage and the joy and distraction it offers her – almost as much as she loves her family and friends and many other supporters. She’s grateful for this opportunity and the new friendships and knowledge she’s gained doing this show, and grateful for the support she’s had to be able to make this happen!
Mr. Forbright played by Ryan Cox
Ryan Cox is finally back on stage (after what seems like a long hiatus to the rest of us) as he’s been adjusting to life as a husband and father – which he is loving and definitely winning at! He’s always been a powersports enthusiast and is still one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. He started his theater life with North Bend Entertainers in the 2012 production of Daddy’s Girl, playing the role of Walter. He found awesome friendships and love for the theater and has since been involved in many productions with them, such as “Elusive Bachelor” as James Arnold, “No Body Like Jimmy” as Harold, “You Can’t Take it With You” as Donald, “The Nerd” as Axel Hammond, “Charlie’s Aunt” as Charlie Wykelham, and “See How They Run” as Clive – just to name a few.
Ms. Cowper played by Lucy Wright
Lucy Wright is not new to the stage here at North Bend Entertainers. She made her debut when she was 10 years old in the Best Christmas Pageant Ever. She has been in multiple plays, but as Lucy Quinn. She has been in plays, not only with community theater, but in her elementary, middle school and high school years as well. She continues her career in theater, but now is the supervisor and lead set painter at Hale Center Theatre in Sandy, that she said has been the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. She still struggles for her independence, even now as it is her father, who is still writing her theatrical bios for her. But hope springs eternal.
Miss Brenda Dixon Brittany Ann Dewey Knowlton
Brittany Ann Dewey Knowlton has been finding catharsis in the theater space since middle school, playing characters ranging from Tweedle-Dee from “Alice in Wonderland” to Nurse Ratched from “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” Although she has had fun spouting poetic Shakespeare and swinging around swords, her greatest role to date is getting married to Brian Knowlton and becoming a mother to two brilliant daughters, Rosalie and Nova – and don’t let her acting fool you, she is indeed prancing around on stage pregnant with her unborn son Thomas. (One could say this is his debut too!)
Brittany is honored to be performing for the first time with/as one of the North Bend Entertainers. After the show she will be off to Graduate School to pursue Drama Therapy in hopes to continue to bring catharsis to teenagers and continue to experience the cathartic fun with North Bend Entertainers.
